Since December 2007, Klement Tockner is director of the Leibniz-Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries, IGB, in Berlin, and professor for Aquatic Ecology at the Free University Berlin.
Klement Tockner has major expertise in wetland and biodiversity research. He is head of the international research program on the Tagliamento River, NE Italy, and he is Editor-in-Chief of the journal Aquatic Sciences: Research across Boundaries.
