The European Union funded EcoAdvance Project has now concluded and key results are available online.  The project undertook Europewide consultation to investigate which factors in freshwater restoration projects tended to make a project more prone to success.  Following analysis of the survey results, the EcoAdvance Prone2Success (P2S) Checklist was developed, which helps steer restoration stakeholders towards the factors most likely to help projects succeed. An interactive version of the P2S checklist is available through the project website.

In parallel, the EcoAdvance team also consulted with experts across the continent to create nearly 100 different Showcases, each of which highlights the experiences and recommendations of different restoration experts.  The Showcases can be viewed online where they are also cross linked according to technical issues, P2S factors and the Nature Restoration Regulation Annex VII example restoration measures. Whilst each showcase focuses on the experience and recommendations of the particular expert, this is often framed around their work on specific projects, for which supporting information is also linked.

As part of the work it was important to understand how different measures of success applied to different projects. It was also important to find a way to visualise project success, whether for proposing new projects or monitoring progression during and beyond works completion.  For this, a Freshwater Restoration Visualisation Tool was developed which uses radar charts to communicate freshwater state, progression and goals.

All of the project deliverables are being finalised and posted online during November & December 2025.  The project website (https://ecoadvance.eu) will maintain access to all products for some years to come, whilst all key documents, data and showcases are also being stored within the Zenodo Repository under the EcoAdvance Community which can be accessed at: https://zenodo.org/communities/ecoadvance.
