LIFE+ RII start!

The LIFE+ RII project is coordinated by the Department of Protection of Land, Coast and Reclamation of Emilia Romagna Region, with the participation of the municipalities of Albinea, Bibbiano, Quattro Castella, San Polo d'Enza and the collaboration of Draining Consortium of Emilia Central. This project concerns the range foothills of the Reggian Apennines, areas where the density of infrastructure and the high level of urbanization lead to a high risk of flooding.

This project aims to introduce and test the effectiveness of innovative strategies of land management with experimental projects to restore the rivers to a safer and more close to the natural status, with the objective to increase the self-depurating capacity and to improve water quality and ecological status.
