The 1st international Conférence on "Integrative Sciences and sustainable development of rivers" will be organized in Lyon, FRANCE, from the 26th till the 26th of june

 

A new report, prepared by DG Environment, has recently been published addressing the issue of links between the Water Framework Directive (WFD 2000/60/EC) and Nature Directives (Birds Directive 2009/147/EC and Habitats Directive 92/43/EEC).

This paper compiles some frequently asked questions raised by implementing authorities and stakeholders and provides detailed answers related to the implementation of WFD in Natura 2000 sites.

As part of water management in the future it is important that we improve our rivers so that they are better able to cope with the changing climate.

Finnish Environment Institute has published a new guide "Restoring urban brooks". Targetted at planners and decision makers in the field of land use planning, environmental assessment, green areas and construction the guide offers a versatile information package on the restoration of small water bodies in densely populated areas.
