RRC are looking to recruit an individual to lead on delivering improved ecological status of the river, who will also work closely with the Wildlife Trust and the wider Nature Improvement Area partnership.

Main responsibilities will include assessing existing river data and carrying out walkover site assessments to produce restoration plans for priority reaches; working closely with the Land Adviser to incorporate restoration plans and diffuse pollution mitigation into whole farm plans and project management, design and implementation of 10 priority reach schemes.

With the arrival of four Asian short-clawed otters to the WWT London Wetland Centre visitors will now be able to see this key wetland species in London, playing, foraging, feeding, swimming and grooming.

A two day conference was hosted by the River Restoration Centre and held at Nottingham University in April. The event presented some of the most cutting edge and innovative ways of achieving river restoration to a 200 strong audience of international environmental experts.

The Romanian National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management is subcontracted by DLG - Government Service for Land and Water Management (the Netherlands) to contribute to the RESTORE activities in East region (covering mainly Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria).
